- Digital platforms must remove infringing content immediately.

The Bombay High Court has issued an interim order prohibiting the unauthorized use of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha's name, images, and his famous "Khamosh" dialogue online. This ruling protects his personality rights against digital exploitation and AI-generated content.
The court stated that Sinha's "Khamosh" dialogue, delivered in his distinctive style, is exclusively associated with his persona. The bench expressed an initial opinion that Sinha's name, likeness, and image warrant protection due to evidence of infringement on his personality rights, public rights, and privacy.
All websites and social media platforms have been directed to immediately remove any infringing content and to prevent future unauthorized uploads. The court observed that personality rights are gaining importance due to their exploitation on digital platforms, especially with the advent of AI technology enabling digital forgeries.
