In a major coup for the state of Gujarat, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to host the 70th Filmfare Awards on October 11, 2025 at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad. Khan will be joined by renowned filmmaker Karan Johar and popular host Maniesh Paul to co-host the prestigious event.
The announcement comes after an MoU was signed in August between the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) and Worldwide Media Private Limited, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Under the agreement, Gujarat will host the Filmfare Awards 2025, a landmark achievement that aligns with the state's Cinematic Tourism Policy 2022.
Chief Minister Patel emphasized that hosting the Filmfare Awards will not only boost the local economy and create employment opportunities, but also promote the 'Vocal for Local' initiative by encouraging the purchase and sale of indigenous products. The event is expected to reinforce Gujarat's position as a preferred destination for the entertainment industry.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, the Chief Minister also unveiled the iconic Filmfare Trophy - the coveted 'Black Lady' - further cementing Gujarat's role in this prestigious Bollywood celebration.
