Bollywood Star Abhishek Bachchan Mourns Longtime Makeup Artist's Passing

In a heartfelt social media post, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan mourned the passing of his longtime makeup artist, Ashok Sawant. Bachchan and Sawant had worked together for over 27 years, with Sawant doing the actor's makeup since his very first film.

Bachchan described Sawant not just as a team member, but as "part of the family." He recalled their personal rituals, such as Bachchan touching Sawant's feet to seek his blessings before the first shot of a new film. Bachchan also shared that Sawant's elder brother had been his father's makeup artist for close to 50 years, further cementing their familial bond.

Despite Sawant's recent health struggles that prevented him from frequently being on set in his later years, Bachchan said the makeup artist would still check in daily to ensure his makeup was properly managed. The actor fondly remembered Sawant as a "kind, gentle and affable person" who always brought warmth to the workplace.

Bachchan expressed his grief at the loss, saying it is "heartbreaking to even think of going to work and knowing that you won't be with me." He concluded his tribute by praying for Sawant's peace and looking forward to reuniting with him in the afterlife.
