In a recent interview, Bollywood actor Aahana Kumra has revealed the severe backlash she faced from fans of Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh after her elimination from the reality show 'Rise And Fall'. Kumra stated that despite the two contestants resolving their differences on stage, she continued to receive a barrage of death and rape threats online.
Expressing her shock and disbelief, Kumra questioned the intensity and one-sided nature of the harassment, saying, "What era are we living in? Which century are we in that for saying one thing, I am receiving so many threats, so many things are being said about me -- but no one else is being told anything?"
Kumra clarified that she neither abused anyone on the show nor acted offensively. She explained that while she had said something Singh's fans disliked, the matter was settled amicably on stage. Kumra now holds Singh in high regard, recalling the moment of reconciliation when she touched his mother's feet, and he responded, "If I say sorry to you, I won't become less as a person."
Despite acknowledging the fans' anger, Kumra stated that she forwarded the screenshots of the threats to the show's producers, highlighting the severity of the situation. The actor's ordeal serves as a stark reminder of the online harassment that public figures often face, even after resolving their differences.
