Bollywood's 'He-Man' Dharmendra's Fearless Encounters with Underworld and Fans

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, fondly known as the 'He-Man of Bollywood', has long been celebrated for his power, passion, and pride, both on and off the silver screen. Now, actor-director Satyajeet Puri has shed light on some jaw-dropping incidents from Dharmendra's illustrious past, revealing why the superstar continues to be remembered as one of Indian cinema's most fearless and respected legends.

Puri recalled how Dharmendra's confidence extended beyond his films, as he once gave a direct warning to the underworld, stating, "If you come, the whole Sahnewal will come from Punjab. You have 10 men, I have an army. Say one word, and truckloads will come to fight. Don't mess with me." According to Puri, after this bold declaration, the underworld never dared to approach Dharmendra again.

Puri also recounted a shocking moment where a fan attacked Dharmendra with a knife. Instead of panicking or calling for help, the 'Dharam Veer' actor handled the situation himself, tackling the assailant within a minute. Puri marveled at Dharmendra's composure, noting that while today's actors rely on bodyguards, Dharmendra and his contemporary Vinod Khanna would walk freely without any security.

Furthermore, Puri shared an amusing story from the sets of 'Ghulami', where the fearless actor decided to perform a dangerous horse-riding scene himself. Despite the horse slipping on a wet surface, Dharmendra's sheer strength and control saved both him and the animal from serious injury. Puri expressed admiration for Dharmendra's unmatched toughness, stating that any other actor would have suffered multiple fractures, but the 'Sholay' star emerged unscathed.
