Bollywood Couple's International Travel Plans Halted by Court Order
1 Oct
Summary
- Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra denied permission to travel abroad
- Planned Phuket trip from October 2-5 canceled due to court order
- Couple had several other international trips planned in the coming months

As of October 1, 2025, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, have faced a major setback in their travel plans. The Bombay High Court has denied them permission to fly abroad for a leisure trip to Phuket, Thailand, which they had planned to take from October 2-5.
The court's decision comes in the wake of a Rs 60 crore fraud case involving the couple's now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd. The case was filed by Deepak Kothari, Director of UY Industries Pvt. Ltd., who alleged that he was misled into investing in the firm between 2015 and 2023.
According to the couple's petition, they had several other international trips planned over the next few months, including visits to Los Angeles, Colombo, the Maldives, Dubai, and London. However, the court has now halted these travel plans as well, citing the ongoing investigation.
The judges were not convinced by the arguments presented by Shetty and Kundra's lawyers, who claimed that the pair had traveled abroad several times in the past despite the earlier case and had always returned to India and cooperated with investigators. The court has directed the public prosecutor to file a reply, indicating that the legal proceedings are still ongoing.
