Bobby Deol's Regret: Unsaid Words to Father Dharmendra

Actor Bobby Deol recently shared poignant reflections on his relationship with his late father, Dharmendra, admitting that career lulls were emotionally taxing due to unexpressed sentiments between them. He expressed a profound sense of regret, wishing he had spent more time conversing with and understanding his father better. These feelings intensified following Dharmendra's passing on November 24, 2025.

Dharmendra, who died at 89 in Mumbai from age-related ailments, had himself written poems about regretting insufficient time with his father. Bobby Deol revealed that this cycle of life deeply moved him. He recalled Dharmendra receiving the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honour, in the 2026 honours list, announced on January 25, 2026.

Following his father's demise, Bobby's life perspective has dramatically shifted. He now prioritizes being present with his sons, Aryaman and Dharam Deol, and his wife, understanding that true success lies in shared time with family, not just fame or wealth. He noted a new maturity in his sons, perhaps brought on by their grandfather's passing.

Bobby vividly remembers his father, despite being exhausted from a long day's shoot, holding him tightly until he slept when he was a young child. This memory remains his most cherished. Determined to avoid repeating past regrets, Bobby consciously spends more time with his own family, ensuring he is present for his sons.
