Scottish electronic duo Boards of Canada have ended a 13-year drought with the release of their new album, "Inferno." This anticipated 18-track, 70-minute double set arrived at midnight via Warp Records, surprising fans who had long awaited new material.
"Inferno" showcases the duo's experimental side, offering an expansive and varied soundscape. Standout tracks such as "You Retreat In Time And Space" evoke the ambiance of ancient cathedrals, "Arena Americanada" presents a familiar yet inquisitive tone, and "Age of Capricorn" captivates with its mysterious sampled voice.
The new album follows "Tomorrow's Harvest," released in 2013, which previously charted in the UK and on the US Billboard 200. The duo, known for their enigmatic and secretive nature, rarely performs and avoids the press, a stance that appears unchanged with this latest release.
