Principal photography has begun in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains for "Bloody Legend," a comedy-horror feature starring Australian actor Yaz Haddad. Haddad, co-host of the "Yaz & Feras" breakfast show, plays Benny, a social-media enthusiast whose quest to capture proof of a mythical big cat on camera spirals into peril.
The film taps into enduring Australian folklore surrounding sightings of a large, panther-like creature in the Blue Mountains bushland. It aims to balance comedic potential with genuine horror as Benny's ambition for viral content puts him and his friends in danger.
Directed by Susan Taylor and Catherine Stone, "Bloody Legend" is independently financed and also seeks funding through the Australian Cultural Fund. The production is expected to announce further cast and crew details soon.
