Judge Throws Out Key Claims in Lively vs. Baldoni Trial

In a Manhattan Federal District Court, Judge Lewis J. Liman has significantly reduced the scope of Blake Lively's sexual harassment claims against Justin Baldoni. Ten of the thirteen claims brought forth by Lively were dismissed, with the judge stating that some allegations did not meet essential legal standards. However, Judge Liman noted that a few of Lively's claims concerning retaliation for speaking out will proceed to trial.

This ruling follows a previous dismissal of Baldoni's defamation lawsuit against Lively, which occurred in 2025. Attorneys for Baldoni expressed gratitude for the court's review, emphasizing that the remaining case is substantially narrowed. Lively's legal team affirmed their focus on the alleged retaliation and reputational damage, asserting that this will be the core of their case at the upcoming trial. The trial is slated to commence on May 18.
