Blade Rumored for Two Major MCU Appearances
24 May
Summary
- Blade may appear in Avengers: Secret Wars and a potential Midnight Sons film.
- Rumors suggest Mahershala Ali or Wesley Snipes could portray the character.
- Wesley Snipes recently reprised his Blade role in Deadpool & Wolverine.
The highly anticipated solo film for Marvel's Blade has faced numerous delays since its 2019 announcement. Despite Mahershala Ali's vocal cameo in Eternals and a voice role in Marvel Zombies, his standalone movie appears to be in limbo. However, recent rumors suggest the Daywalker might feature prominently in two upcoming MCU projects: Avengers: Secret Wars and a rumored Midnight Sons film. These reports originate from insider Daniel Richtman, though Marvel has yet to confirm the Midnight Sons project.
This speculation raises a significant question: which version of Blade will fans see? With the MCU's multiversal nature, both Mahershala Ali and Wesley Snipes, who recently reprised his iconic role in Deadpool & Wolverine, are possibilities. Snipes' return earned him a Guinness World Record, and his involvement could influence future casting decisions. While Ali's iteration seems a natural fit for a supernatural team-up, the post-Secret Wars landscape might see shifts in character status quos.
Despite reports suggesting Blade's solo film is 'dead' due to development issues, cast member Mia Goth expressed optimism in late 2025. Avengers: Secret Wars is slated for a December 17, 2027 release, while Deadpool & Wolverine is available for streaming on Disney+.
