Blade Runner 2099: Replicants Rule Los Angeles!

Set fifty years after Blade Runner 2049, the upcoming series Blade Runner 2099 depicts a transformed Los Angeles where a replicant uprising has resulted in human subjugation. Replicants now hold the reins of power, relegating humans to second-class status after a war that reshaped the city's order.

The narrative delves into the philosophical question of humanity's relevance in a world dominated by artificial beings. It draws inspiration not only from the films but also from Philip K. Dick's foundational novel, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

Blade Runner 2099 will feature entirely new characters, moving beyond Deckard and K. Leading the cast is Michelle Yeoh as Olwen, a replicant Blade Runner in her final days, hunting rogue replicants. Her story mirrors Roy Batty's from the original film, but is told from the replicant's perspective.

Cora, played by Hunter Schafer, is a human fugitive who has lost her humanity while evading Blade Runners, raising the question of whether humanity can be regained. The series promises a "sunshine noir" aesthetic, blending the franchise's signature texture with a brighter, coastal visual style.
