Summary
- Black Phone 2 halfway to beating predecessor's $161.4M worldwide

As of October 27, 2025, the horror sequel Black Phone 2 has been making waves at the box office. The film, which sees the return of Ethan Hawke as the chilling serial killer known as The Grabber, has already collected $80.4 million globally, putting it on track to surpass the $161.4 million worldwide gross of its 2022 predecessor.
In its second weekend, Black Phone 2 dropped to the #2 spot, largely due to the release of Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc in North America. However, the sequel still managed to rake in $13 million domestically, a 52.4% drop from its opening weekend. With a total of $49.05 million in the US and Canada, the film narrowly missed the $50 million mark.
Internationally, the sequel has been a bit slower, accounting for 39% of the worldwide total so far. But the film is expected to hit the $100 million milestone in its third weekend, cementing its status as a box office success.
The story of Black Phone 2 follows Finn, now 17, as he tries to rebuild his life after a terrifying abduction. Meanwhile, his sister begins to receive eerie calls in her dreams through the black phone and witnesses haunting visions of three boys being hunted at a remote winter camp called Alpine Lake.
Frontlined by rising star Mason Thames, who is also headlining other projects like How to Train Your Dragon and Regretting You this year, Black Phone 2 is poised to capitalize on the Halloween hype and potentially surpass its predecessor's performance in the coming weeks.
