Now, Black Phone 2 stands poised to overtake the lifetime global box office earnings of the acclaimed 2016 apocalyptic sci-fi thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane, directed by Predator: Badlands filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg. The Ethan Hawke-starrer supernatural horror sequel currently needs just over $100,000 to surpass 10 Cloverfield Lane's $110.2 million worldwide gross.

While Black Phone 2 is on track to achieve this milestone, the horror sequel falls short in another crucial box office parameter: the earnings-to-budget ratio. The film has earned $110.1 million against an estimated $30 million production budget, translating to a 3.7 times return on investment. In comparison, 10 Cloverfield Lane grossed $110.2 million globally on a much leaner $15 million budget, earning approximately 7.4 times its production cost.
