Eco-Pandal: Nature's Wonders at Durga Puja

The 76th Durga Puja celebration at Maligaon Kalibari Parichalana Samitee features a unique biodiversity-themed pandal designed to resemble a vibrant ecosystem. This impressive structure artfully combines artificial elements with real plants, showcasing a spectrum of natural life from microscopic organisms to diverse fauna. Skilled artisans from Dhubri were employed for its construction, which utilized plaster of Paris and wood.

Complementing the visual display, immersive sound effects have been integrated, specifically curated to captivate younger audiences. The organizers, facing budget constraints estimated at approximately Rs 20 lakh, drew inspiration from a recent natural calamity for their concept. Funding relies on contributions, with committee members providing the majority share.

Beyond the visual spectacle, the committee has organized a series of cultural events throughout the puja period. These include recitations, dance, singing, and musical performances, enriching the festive atmosphere in the evenings. The initiative aims to underscore the significance of nature and foster a deeper connection with it among visitors.
