Summary
- Billie Eilish almost scrapped her hit song "Birds of a Feather"
- The song spent 3 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Global 200
- "Birds of a Feather" was Spotify's most-streamed song of 2024

According to a recent interview, pop sensation Billie Eilish almost decided not to release her hit song "Birds of a Feather" last year. The singer explained that she and her brother/co-producer Finneas had spent nearly a full year wrestling with the track in the studio, and when it was finally complete, Eilish was still unsure if it was good enough to put out.
"Multiple times I was like, 'We should cut this,'" Eilish told the Wall Street Journal. "Even when I played the whole album for the label, I was like, 'Guys, this one is kind of stupid.'"
Fortunately, "Birds of a Feather" made the final cut on Eilish's third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 in May 2024. The upbeat love song then went on to spend 3 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and closed out the year as Spotify's most-streamed track of 2024, with over 1.781 billion streams.
