Bill Nighy: From Writer Dreams to Sci-Fi Cinema

Actor Bill Nighy stars in the new film & Sons, a project featuring an eccentric, science-fiction-tinged twist on a dramatic family announcement. Nighy, who prefers phone conversations and texting over Zoom calls, recently expressed his disdain for working lunches. He also fondly recalls his youthful aspiration to be a writer, even running away to Paris with that goal. Nighy believes his literary idols instilled in him a desire for "reckless restraint," a quality he admires in actors like Steve McQueen and musicians like Prince. He is also known for his podcast, 'Ill-Advised,' which has garnered significant listenership and awards. Nighy's filmography includes roles in "Love Actually," "Pirates of the Caribbean," and "Living," the latter earning him an Oscar nomination.
