Steen, who was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, found a rich social life and a heroic alter ego, 'Ibelin,' within the World of Warcraft gaming community. His online persona thrived despite his progressively restricted physical abilities.
The screenplay, written by Ilaria Bernardini with revisions by Hossein Amini, is based on Steen's blog "Musings of Life." Vendôme Pictures and Pathé are co-financing the production, marking another collaboration after their success with "Coda."
