Released on October 8, 2026, the ad playfully depicts Venkman confronting Slimer in a suburban refrigerator. This spot promotes a new software update for all Rivian vehicles, enabling a "Halloween Mode."
This update allows drivers to activate themed lights, sounds, and unlockable content. The "Trick or Treat Mode" syncs exterior lights with the Ghostbusters theme, offering various iconic sounds and visual elements. Drivers can also access hidden clue cards and enjoy a seasonally adapted Rivian Assistant voice.
Further enhancing the holiday spirit, Rivian's Special Projects team created a unique Ecto-R1, a modified R1S showcasing Ghostbusters imagery and custom accessories.
