Bill Maher addressed Donald Trump's recent social media jabs during his show's monologue. Trump had criticized Maher for his show's ratings and referred to his audience laughter as a "fake laughing machine."
Maher responded humorously, stating he could always tell when the president was in a bad mood because he began tweeting about him. He embraced the insult, showing stock footage of his audience clapping, and remarked that it should settle the matter.
The public exchange highlights the ongoing tension between Maher and Trump, despite a past dinner meeting in March 2025. This renewed verbal sparring follows Maher's earlier criticism of Trump's "Trump Derangement Syndrome" remarks.
