Bigg Boss Winner Slams Contestant Snubs

Filmmaker Akhil Marar, the winner of Bigg Boss Malayalam 5, has voiced significant disapproval regarding the exclusion of contestant Shibna from the current season. In a video shared on social media, Marar, who served as a judge for the pre-show 'Agnipareeksha,' stated that no other female contestant currently in the house matches Shibna's caliber.

Marar elaborated that Shibna demonstrated the potential to be a stronger competitor than some individuals who gained direct entry. He highlighted her unique ability to provide substantial content and exhibit competitive drive, suggesting that outside image or other unspecified factors might have influenced the final selection. Marar pointed out that the audience vote determined direct entries but implied this might not have captured true merit.

The former winner also commented on the perceived lack of understanding of 'Agnipareeksha' as a crucial training ground. He lamented that had the audience fully supported this preliminary selection process, more deserving contestants than those ultimately chosen might have secured a place. His remarks have initiated conversations among viewers regarding the entertainment value and competitive fairness of the elimination decisions for 'Agnipareeksha' finalists.

'Agnipareeksha' was a novel pre-show initiative in Bigg Boss Malayalam designed to select commoner contestants. From an initial pool of 40 participants, 12 finalists were selected for a public vote. The premiere episode saw host Mohanlal welcoming contestants Loletta, Rakesh, Eldho, and Shijin into the main house, leaving Marar's favored contestant, Shibna, outside.
