The 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) has revealed an 11-film lineup for its flagship competition, now called 'Bucheon Choice: World -- Features'. This year's selection prominently features films with a queer sensibility and narratives addressing anxious youth, drawing from major festival circuits.
Highlights include critically acclaimed titles such as Jane Schoenbrun's 'Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma' and Curry Barker's 'Obsession.' The festival, which runs from July 2-12 in Bucheon, South Korea, is known as one of Asia's largest platforms for horror, fantasy, and thriller cinema.
Several films in the competition will have their premieres at BIFAN, including Kan Yamamoto's 'Cursed Meme' and the Korea-Taiwan co-production 'NIKO,' featuring Tiffany Young. The festival will also present works like Hanna Bergholm's 'Nightborn' and Damian McCarthy's 'Hokum,' further enriching its diverse genre offerings.
