Bidar Singer Captivates Mysuru Dasara with Devotional Melodies

In September 2025, during the renowned Mysuru Dasara celebrations, Rekha Sowdi, a celebrated singer from Bidar and president of the Bidar Cultural Forum, took the stage to perform devotional music. Sowdi sang a variety of spiritual songs, including 'Savirada Sharanu', 'Halalladaru Haaku', and 'Shambho Swayambho Sambhava', captivating the audience with her soulful renditions.
Sowdi was joined by Lakshmi Sowdi, Madhusree, and Vaishnavi Koppa as supporting vocalists, with Madhusudhan Koppa on tabla, Vasant Kumble on keyboard, Poornaprasad on Bull Bull Tarang, and Gurudatta on rhythm pad. The Forest minister of Bidar district, Eshwar Khandre, who was present at the event, honored Rekha Sowdi and her team, acknowledging their contribution to the prestigious Mysuru Dasara festivities through their devotional music performances.
Khandre noted that Sowdi and her team have made Bidar district proud through their numerous performances both within and outside the state. He also mentioned that the government has been organizing Bidar Utsav and Basava Utsav events, modeled after the Dasara celebrations, to promote the cultural heritage of the region.
