Bhagyashree's Parents Burned Love Letters

Actress Bhagyashree has revealed the dramatic events surrounding her real-life love story, which mirrored the struggles seen in her Bollywood debut. She recounted a painful memory where her parents burned the love letters exchanged with Himalaya, the man she loved since school. Initially, her parents disapproved due to her young age, and she complied with their wishes to end the relationship.

Years later, when their feelings resurfaced, parental resistance intensified. Her parents urged her to end the relationship in a way that would make Himalaya hate her, believing they needed more life experience. Bhagyashree complied, stating she never wanted to marry without her parents' blessings, even touching their feet before leaving the house.

The incident of her love letters being burned in a bonfire caused her immense grief. Psychiatrist Dr. Anitha Chandra explained that such events can cause deep emotional pain, helplessness, and anger, as the letters symbolize love, identity, and choice. Their destruction can invalidate feelings and lead to a sense of being controlled.

Dr. Chandra further noted that the conflict between parental approval and personal love can be extremely painful, leading to emotional stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. For Bhagyashree, the burning of the letters may have concluded that specific event, but the emotional impact of those memories clearly persisted.
