Bewafaa Director Slams 'Murder' Plot Rip-off

The romantic musical drama Bewafaa, released 21 years ago on February 25, 2005, featured an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Director Dharmesh Darshan recently shared his experience, revealing a significant plot controversy.
Darshan stated that the producers of the 2004 film Murder, starring Mallika Sherawat and Emraan Hashmi, created a film with approximately 80% of the same plot. This occurred while Bewafaa's own shoot was already 80% complete.
Consequently, Darshan felt compelled to alter his film for what he described as "rubbish reasons." He noted that Boney Kapoor, the producer of Bewafaa, is an excellent producer who takes his time to complete films.
