Bethenny Frankel Debuts New Boyfriend, Reflects on Divorce Trauma

Bethenny Frankel recently celebrated the public launch of her new relationship with boyfriend Campbell under a disco ball. Friends and fellow reality stars, including Melissa Gorga and Gretchen Rossi, expressed their excitement for Frankel's new chapter.

Frankel's new romance unfolds years after the painful resolution of her divorce from Jason Hoppy, which concluded in January 2021 after nearly a decade. During a December 2025 appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Frankel detailed the immense trauma of the divorce.

She described the divorce as more painful than witnessing her mother's suicide attempts or experiencing a childhood surrounded by illicit activities. Frankel recounted the decade-long ordeal, stating she lost hair and doubted her ability to ever be happy again, motivated solely by her daughter.

Frankel managed the trauma by approaching it like a marathon, tackling issues of fraud, theft, hacking, harassment, and abuse one step at a time. Following her divorce, she had an on-off relationship with Dennis Shields, who passed away in August 2018.

Frankel has continued to honor Shields' memory, notably with a birthday tribute in February 2020, acknowledging his lasting impact and the void his absence left.
