Bethenny Frankel Accused of Delaying $2M Divorce Case

Reality star Bethenny Frankel is allegedly delaying proceedings in a significant legal fight over her divorce, with claims she is deliberately stalling her deposition. Her former attorney, Jamie Schreck, stated that Frankel has not provided availability for deposition since 2022 and has effectively "abandoned" the case for nearly four years. Schreck also noted Frankel's lack of response to a settlement offer of $25,000.

This dispute traces back to 2017 when Frankel initiated a malpractice lawsuit against Schreck, seeking $2 million. She contended that improper drafting of trust documents by Schreck complicated her divorce from ex-husband Jason Hoppy, leading to issues with the ownership of a New York condo purchased in 2011. Frankel asserts the trust agreement granted her ex-husband a 50% interest in the property, a claim Schreck denies, stating any damages were due to third parties.

Frankel's current legal team asserts they are actively engaged in the case, disputing claims of abandonment. The original lawsuit involved allegations that the improper trust arrangement significantly impacted the finalization of her divorce, which concluded in 2016, by prolonging property ownership litigation.
