Moviegoers in Bengaluru and Chennai are now experiencing an upgraded IMAX offering with the debut of IMAX XT Laser 3D technology. The PVR Nexus in Bengaluru and PVR Palazzo in Chennai have completed significant renovations, reopening just in time for the release of "Avatar: Fire And Ash." This upgrade replaces the older IMAX Dual Xenon 3D projection systems with the advanced XT Laser, promising significantly brighter and sharper visuals.
The new IMAX experience includes not only upgraded screens and sound systems but also new seating and carpeting at PVR Nexus. This technological leap provides a superior contrast, better color reproduction, and enhanced resolution, making for a more lifelike and immersive 3D viewing. Residents of these cities can now enjoy a premium cinematic experience previously unavailable in their local IMAX theaters.
While two other IMAX locations in India feature the even more advanced Commercial Laser 3D projection, the XT Laser upgrade positions Bengaluru and Chennai among a select group of 13 Indian IMAX venues with this cutting-edge technology. The upgrades were a response to long-standing fan demands, ensuring that the premium IMAX experience continues to attract audiences, especially for visually spectacular films like the "Avatar" franchise.
