On October 25, 2025, the entertainment industry was left in shock and grief with the sudden passing of veteran Bollywood actor Satish Shah. The 68-year-old, celebrated for his iconic roles in television and cinema, died after collapsing while having lunch at his residence.
According to his manager Ramesh Kadatala, the tragic incident occurred around 2-2:45 pm as Shah was enjoying his meal. "He ate a bite and then collapsed," Kadatala recounted. It took nearly half an hour for an ambulance to arrive, but doctors at the hospital were unable to revive him.
Just 4 months prior, on June 16, 2025, Shah had undergone a successful kidney transplant in Kolkata. His manager shared that he had been recovering well, with only a minor urinary infection that was being treated with antibiotics.
Neighbors who were present during the incident described Shah as a kind and humble individual. "Everyone we called came immediately, leaving their work," said neighbor Anup. The entertainment industry has been mourning the loss of this Bollywood icon, with fans and colleagues expressing their grief on social media.
Shah's diverse filmography included popular hits like 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro', 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain', and 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', the latter of which featured one of his most iconic comic performances on Indian television. The actor's sudden and tragic passing has left a void in the hearts of many who admired his talent and versatility.
