Sydney Sweeney is attached to star as Katrina Van Tassel, the object of affection in the original tale. The film will be presented as a mystery and a supernatural erotic thriller, told from Katrina's perspective.
Lindsey Anderson Beer is penning the script and will also direct and produce. Beer's debut novel, on which the film is based, is slated for release in the fall of 2027. The project is being produced through Sweeney's newly formed company, Honey Trap.
Casting is still underway for the role of Ichabod Crane. This will be Beer's fourth feature film, following previous directorial work on "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser" and "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines."
