A remarkable piece of Beatles history is scheduled for auction next month, offering fans a unique connection to the band's formative years. The item in question is a front door key from the Liverpool home where Sir Paul McCartney lived with his family until 1963.
It was at this property, 20 Forthlin Road, that McCartney composed some of The Beatles' earliest compositions alongside bandmate John Lennon. Following McCartney's departure, the key was sent in 1965, along with a photograph of the house, to an American fan by a then-occupant.
The three items—the key, the photograph, and a letter—will be auctioned together on October 7 by Dominic Winter auctioneers. Experts anticipate that this collection of memorabilia will fetch between £2,000 and £3,000.
