A new six-part mini-series, 'Hamburg Days,' is scheduled to premiere on the BBC in 2027. The series will adapt Klaus Voorman's autobiography, 'It Started in Hamburg,' exploring the early lives of The Beatles in Germany prior to their immense global fame.
Klaus Voorman, a pivotal figure in the band's history, is involved as a consultant for the production. He was part of their inner circle during their formative Hamburg residencies in the early 1960s and later designed the renowned cover for their 'Revolver' album. Voorman also played bass on numerous solo albums after the band's breakup.
The series will feature up-and-coming actors portraying the iconic band members, including Ellis Murphy as Paul McCartney and Rhys Mannion as John Lennon. Lea Drinda will play Astrid Kirchherr, a significant artist and photographer from Hamburg's scene who was also close to the band. The production faced a recent setback with the tragic passing of actress Luna Jordan, who was originally cast as Kirchherr.
