Beatles Biopic: Stars Transform Liverpool for Fab Four Saga

Filming for a new Beatles biopic is currently underway in Liverpool, with actors Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan seen on set. The production, under the direction of Sir Sam Mendes, has led to a significant transformation of the city, with various roads and landmarks like Crosby Plaza Cinema being redecorated to reflect the 1950s and 60s. Four separate films are planned for release in 2028, each dedicated to the story of an individual member of the iconic band.

Paul Mescal is portraying Sir Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan is Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson is John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn is George Harrison. The streets have been populated with vintage cars, buses, and people dressed in period fashion. Mescal has been photographed in character at historically significant locations, including McCartney's childhood home and Lennon's former residence. Keoghan has also been spotted visiting a local coffee shop.

This project holds particular significance as it is the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and the surviving Beatles and estates of the deceased members have granted complete rights for a scripted film series. Residents have noted the impressive scale of the production, with one local describing it as "another level" and remarking on the substantial "Hollywood bucks" backing the endeavor. The preparation for filming was extensive, with residents informed months in advance.
