This figure more than doubled the initial price expectations of £3,000-£4,000, marking one of the auction house's most successful sales for Beatles autographs.
The collection was assembled by 79-year-old Elizabeth Salt, who acquired the signatures and the guitar string on April 7, 1963, when she was 16. She managed to retrieve the broken string from the stage during a performance at the Savoy Ballroom in Southsea. Later, she also obtained the signatures of the Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard, and Adam Faith.
