Summary
- The Bear's finale subtly honored the late actor Rob Reiner.
- A character quoted 'The Princess Bride,' directed by Rob Reiner.
- Rob Reiner's son is accused of his parents' murder.
The FX series finale of The Bear concluded its five-season run with a subtle yet meaningful tribute to actor Rob Reiner. During the episode titled 'The Original Beef of Chicagoland,' a conversation between line cook Ebra and restaurant consultant Albert, played by Reiner, includes a direct quote from the beloved film 'The Princess Bride.'
Ebra echoes the line 'As you wish,' famously delivered by Westley in the 1987 romance, directed by Rob Reiner himself. This cinematic reference served as an homage to the late actor, who made a guest appearance as Albert Schnurr in the show's fourth season.
The tribute comes amidst a deeply tragic personal context for Reiner. His son, Nick Reiner, was arrested in December 2025 for the alleged murder of his parents. Nick Reiner has entered a not guilty plea to the charges, and his case is currently ongoing as evidence is still being collected.
