BD Wong Apologizes for Racist Social Media Comment

BD Wong, known for his roles in "Law & Order: SVU" and the "Jurassic Park" franchise, has apologized for a racist social media comment. The incident occurred on an Instagram post by influencer Mike Holston, where Wong made an offensive remark. Wong later took to Threads to express his regret, admitting the comment was "racist and terrible" and deleting it due to damage control.

In his apology, Wong accepted full responsibility for the hurt his words caused, describing the joke as "super dumb" and acknowledging he "knows better." He stated his intention was to follow a "wrong answers only" prompt but admitted his response was "super wrong." He thanked advocates for creating a safer online environment and acknowledged the potential damage to his reputation.

Wong's career spans numerous acclaimed roles, including his Tony Award-winning performance in "M. Butterfly." This incident follows his recent public statement condemning the casting of a non-Asian actor in a Broadway musical, highlighting his engagement with issues of race and representation.
