Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, renowned for his opulent visual style, has collaborated with designer Catherine Martin on 'Celia,' a new private dining and events carriage for the iconic British Pullman train. This exclusive carriage is set to launch in summer 2026, promising a glamorous and immersive experience.
Designed to transport guests into a fantastical realm, Celia draws inspiration from Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' The interiors feature elaborate fabric ceilings, plush velvet upholstery, and rich floral motifs in vibrant greens, yellows, reds, and purples. Heavy theatre-style curtains and mosaic details enhance the magical ambiance.
Celia will operate as a self-contained private carriage departing from London's Victoria Station, catering to up to 12 guests. It includes a dining area, lounge, bar, and kitchen. Onboard, dedicated stewards will attend to guests, with options for personalized menus designed by a private chef using seasonal British produce.
Luhrmann described the creation of Celia as a 'once-in-a-lifetime experience,' aiming to push creative boundaries and offer guests a unique journey. Prices for exclusive use of the Celia carriage start from £15,000, inclusive of transfers within Greater London, offering a magical mystery tour through the UK's countryside.
