Bargain Hunt presenter James Lewis has married his husband, Ed Otter, in an intimate ceremony attended by 50 guests last September. Otter, who is 18 years Lewis's junior, works as a Toys, Trains and Juvenalia Specialist at an auction house. Lewis, aged 53, shared that his relationship with Otter began after his divorce from his wife, Annabel. He described their meeting 15 years ago at a pub as "pretty much, love at first sight."
Lewis, who has previously survived two cardiac arrests, revealed a health scare on his wedding day when his heart rate exceeded 250 beats per minute. His cardiologist had advised him to avoid high-stress situations. Despite this, Lewis continues to participate in charity auctions and has a defibrillator implanted following a near-fatal collapse in 2019, where a stranger's CPR saved his life. He is also a patron of the Born Free Foundation.
His daughter, Arabella, from his previous marriage, was present at the wedding and reportedly gets along well with Ed Otter. The couple had initially considered eloping to Yellowstone National Park but decided to include their families and Arabella in the celebration. Lewis founded Bamfords Auctioneers with his parents, a forensic scientist mother and his father, the inventor of Nurofen.
