Summary
- A new animated series based on Backyard Baseball is in development.
- The series will feature an all-star voice cast, including Tiffany Haddish.

Playground Productions is expanding the beloved Backyard Sports franchise with "Backyard Sports: The Animated Series." This new animated series will consist of 20 11-minute episodes.
The team announced the series at San Diego Comic-Con, revealing that an all-star cast will reprise their roles from a recent animated short. The series is based on the classic Backyard Baseball game, which was rebooted on July 9 for Steam and will soon be available on consoles.
Notable voice actors include Tiffany Haddish as Kiesha Phillips and Donald Faison as Dante Robinson. Playground Productions CEO Lindsay Barnett expressed excitement for bringing the characters into new storytelling forms, noting that their stories have always felt larger than the game itself.
Furthermore, Playground Productions is teasing the development of a "Backyardiverse," a connected world intended to merge sports, storytelling, and culture, promising more adventures beyond the animated series.
