Ten years after starring in the viral 'Baby Shark Dance' video, Park Geon Roung, identified as the 'Baby Shark Boy,' is embarking on a K-pop music career. His debut digital single, titled 'Wave,' is scheduled for release on August 20. This Korean-language track features Joohoney, a member of the popular K-pop group Monsta X, and includes lyrics that Park himself helped to write.
Park, now 17, expressed gratitude for being remembered from his childhood appearance and stated his desire to share his own voice and narrative. The Pinkfong Company, which popularized the 'Baby Shark' song, indicated that Park's debut will not be treated as a typical K-pop idol launch, with future activities contingent on the single's reception. Park previously made a brief return in 2025 through short-form videos celebrating the 10th anniversary of 'Baby Shark,' which garnered 22 million views.
