In the lead-up to the re-release of the Baahubali saga, titled 'Baahubali: The Epic', director SS Rajamouli has made an exciting announcement. Rajamouli revealed that a teaser for an upcoming animated film, 'Baahubali: The Eternal War', will be unveiled with the re-edited version of the two-part epic.
The animated project is not the much-anticipated Baahubali 3, but rather a continuation of the Baahubali universe. Rajamouli clarified that the film will feature the same characters, but on a different tangent. The director also shared that the animation film has been in development for over two and a half years and has a budget of around Rs 120 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian animated productions.
Prabhas, who played the lead role of Baahubali, expressed his enthusiasm for the animated spin-off, stating that it is already a hit if viewers enjoyed the live-action films. The Baahubali: The Epic re-release is set to hit theaters worldwide on October 31, 2025, with international premieres scheduled for October 29.
