Neera Arya: India's First Women's Army Revealed

Azad Bharath, a historical drama slated for release on January 2, aims to illuminate a forgotten chapter of India's freedom struggle. The film centers on freedom fighter Neera Arya, portrayed by Roopa Iyer, who was part of Subhas Chandra Bose's groundbreaking first women's army. This cinematic endeavor marks Roopa Iyer's debut as a Hindi film director, a journey she describes as challenging.

Despite facing obstacles, including initial reluctance from crew members to follow a woman director, Iyer persevered. She credits the women in her life for their unwavering support throughout the project. The film is conceived as a tribute to the nation's unsung heroes, delving into stories of patriotism and leadership that often remain untold.
