Brooklyn-based artist Aya Brown has collaborated with Nike to release a unique iteration of the Air Max 95. The artist revealed a friends-and-family version earlier this week, followed by a short film announcing the public release.
Brown's design updates the classic silhouette with open mesh panels, green suede, and grey leather. A distinctive toggle system has been added to the shoelaces, and 'abrown' branding replaces the usual 'aimax' on the tongue. The collaboration includes a special box with a cover that doubles as a framed picture.
The Aya Brown x Nike Air Max 95 is set to launch on Friday, August 15, at Nike's New York City pop-up store, located at 47 Chrystie St., for $180. A wider release will follow on August 21 via SNKRS and select retailers.
