Writer Bilal Siddiqui has revealed that a story for Awarapan 3 has not yet been developed, despite the positive reception of Awarapan 2. He mentioned that the conclusion of the second film offers potential for a future installment, but no active work has commenced. Siddiqui expressed satisfaction with the response to Awarapan 2, noting its favorable box office performance and the appreciation from fans who anticipated the sequel. The film successfully revived memories of the original while also standing as a distinct story.

Siddiqui emphasized that the revival of Shivam's character was driven by fan desire, approaching the sequel from a fan's perspective rather than a business decision. He detailed a collaborative writing process spanning nearly a year with producer Vishesh and director Nitin Kakkar, adhering to Vishesh's creative vision. Fan expectations significantly influenced Awarapan 2, with elements like the song "Tera Mera Rishta Purana" being integral to maintaining the film's essence organically.

The team aimed to place Shivam in a new context, showcasing his growth from a man fighting for love to a man of faith undertaking larger missions, a trajectory Vishesh clearly envisioned.
