Author Blends TV Stars into Book Characters

A novelist has shared how the creative process for her books became a conversation, allowing characters to reveal themselves. Following the success of an Apple TV adaptation, the author found herself merging aspects of Jennifer Garner and her co-stars into her fictional creations.

For her latest novel, "The First Time I Saw Him," the author intentionally wove in the traits of Garner, Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and David Morse. This creative approach led to a notable change: a character initially described with long brown hair was reimagined with blonde hair, mirroring Rice's appearance, though this detail remains unspoken in the narrative to maintain story cohesion.
