Austria's Film Appeal: Funding Cuts vs. Location Perks

Austria continues to attract international film and TV productions through targeted funding and appealing locations. While a key incentive program, ÖFI Plus, has seen a severe budget cut from €44.3 million to €2.5 million, the country's appeal remains strong. The FISA Plus incentive program, distinct from ÖFI Plus and part of the economy ministry, offers a 30% rebate for international productions, plus a 5% green bonus. Despite its budget reduction, FISA Plus has supported 193 projects since its 2023 launch, generating substantial production spending. In 2025, over 47 film productions were supported by this program.
