According to recent reports, actor Austin Butler is in talks to play the role of James "Sonny" Crockett in an upcoming film adaptation of the 1980s NBC series "Miami Vice." The script for the new "Miami Vice" film has been written by Eric Warren Singer and Dan Gilroy, with Kosinski and Dylan Clark serving as producers. Universal has scheduled the movie for a theatrical release on August 6, 2027, and shooting is set to begin next year.
