- Pakistani artistes faced work restrictions in India since 2016.
- Atif Aslam has not recorded new songs for Indian industry in 10 years.

Pakistani artist Atif Aslam has released his highly anticipated fourth album, 'Subah Aye Na.' This marks the culmination of an 18-year wait for fans, as his previous album, 'Meri Kahani,' was released in 2008.
Following the 2016 Uri terror attack, Pakistani artistes faced significant work restrictions in India. Consequently, Aslam has not recorded any new songs for the Indian music industry for the past decade. He shared his sentiments on a podcast, stating he misses the Indian audience but not the work opportunities there.
Aslam acknowledged that his fans continue to access his music through unconventional methods like VPNs and unofficial distribution, even if he does not endorse piracy. He feels the period of restriction, which began around 2016, inadvertently provided him with the space to concentrate on producing his own original music.
He also revealed plans for future musical endeavors, including an upcoming project titled 'Borderless World,' which aims to collaborate with a diverse range of artists across different genres and generations. Aslam is committed to releasing new music frequently, potentially an album each year.
