The Black List and the Athens Film Office have launched submissions for the 2027 Owl Screenwriting Workshop, scheduled for January 12-15 in Athens, Greece. This residential program is dedicated to advancing bold, audience-focused feature films and television projects intended for the global market.
Designed for screenwriters with early-career success, the workshop aims to help them elevate their work internationally. Applicants must possess at least one distributed professional credit, and their submitted script must be in English or translated into English.
The workshop facilitates connections between emerging talent and key international producers, executives, and decision-makers. Up to 10 selected writers will benefit from extensive mentorship, personalized script feedback, masterclasses, panels, and crucial networking events.
Submissions are being accepted via the Black List website until October 2. The selection process will evaluate scripts based on originality, writing style, market potential, and the writer's professional history. Creators from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
