Assyrian-Bulgarian Influencer Sarkis Brings Ancient Goddess Inanna to Graphic Novels

In September 2025, Assyrian-Bulgarian social media influencer Sarkis is making a major move into the world of graphic novels. She is partnering with Vault Comics to create an original fantasy story titled "The Name She Lost: Inanna Book 1", based on the ancient Sumerian goddess of love and war.

Sarkis, who has millions of followers across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, has been developing the story for years. She was inspired to bring the lesser-known mythology of Inanna to life, as the average person is more familiar with Greek goddesses like Aphrodite and Hera.

The modern-day story is set in San Francisco, where Inanna emerges from the Bay wearing nothing but a necklace, with little memory of her past. As she discovers her immense strength and charisma, she becomes a champion of her people, but soon finds that her immortal life as a goddess will come back to haunt her.

Sarkis' personal connection to the project runs deep - as a child, she was bullied for her unique name that didn't fit in with the "Mary and Sue" names of her classmates. Even as an adult, she was hesitant to use the name Inanna, worried it would make her seem vain or narcissistic. But in the end, she decided the importance of the ancient mythology outweighed those concerns.

The graphic novel, which is set to hit stores in May 2026, is being co-authored by Eisner-nominated writer Tim Seeley and illustrated by concept artist Ademir Leal. Sarkis will be promoting the project at New York Comic Con this year, as her acting career is also on the rise with roles in several upcoming films.
